Is Clauiano really one of the most beautiful towns in Italy?
Clauiano was named Italy’s most beautiful village in 2004.
When you hear this denomination, you immediately want to visit it because you have very high expectations, you think it’s something very special.
So I decided to go see Clauiano!
Where is Clauiano?
The town is located near Palmanova, about 4km away, is part of the municipality of Trivignano Udinese. The first evidence dates back to 1013 when it was mentioned in a parchment of Patriarch Poppone, in which it was said that Clauiano had to pass under the control of Aquileia.

My advice is to visit the country during the “Open Cellars” event that gives you the chance to enter the courts of the houses and understand the true essence of the place!
However, if you are looking for a place where you can relax and get out of the frantic life of the city, Clauiano is the ideal place! In fact, there are many Bed and Breakfast
